The cumulative Kaplan Nursing Admissions Test score is considered as a direct percentage of the points available on the application for program entry. Candidates who score a cumulative percentage score of AAS-N or Candidates who score The overall cumulative test score is the only Kaplan score considered. Students are advised to take the assessment early enough in the sequence of pre-requite courses to allow time to improve skills and retake if necessary. An academic advisor can assist you in planning the right time to take the Kaplan Nursing Assessment Test. Maintain a copy of your Kaplan Nursing Assessment Test scores for your records. If the Kaplan test is failed, there must be a minimum of 30 days before the second attempt to allow for remediation. If the Kaplan test is failed a second time, and for each time the Kaplan test is failed thereafter, there must be a minimum of one year between attempts to allow for remediation.

Has anyone on this forum taken this exam? If so, would you mind giving some insight as to how the test was? I am applying to a school that requires this exam, but it's either a brand new exam or not many schools use it for whatever reason. Thanks in advance for any replies. Aug 13, I have never heard of a nursing school entrance exam named "Kaplan" Kaplan is a test prep company and they do publish a study book for nursing school entrance exams, but not specific to any one test and certainly not one named after them. I still say Kaplan has not branded their own test. The book with their brand name on it just prepares you for one of these listed above McGraw-Hill has a similar study guide , which essentially test similar concepts. Below is a description of the test from the school's website that I am applying to. The Kaplan Admission Exam is a question multiple-choice test which evaluates basic reading, math, writing, and science skills.

The fact that the test is so new makes it a bit more nerve racking since we don't really know what to expect! It was much more basic than the exam book. I went in there thinking that I was going to bomb the Reading Comprehension section because of how the book had such tricky practice questions. At this school, Math and Reading were the only sections considered for admission, but I'm sure the test would have been harder if all sections were used.

I found that many people advised viewers not to buy the Kaplan test prep book and I would have to agree. If you are planning to take the exam here is what I suggest to focus on: Reading — Make sure you are able to grasp the point of a paragraph or an article and determine the meaning of a word using the context of the sentence. Math — Know how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions. The majority of my test questions involved fractions!

It is almost am right now and I take the Kaplan at 9am. I have been killing myself studying because the stupid practice tests had so many genetics and physics questions on them… I have never taken physics and have been in a complete panic!! Same thing with the math… I have been cramming to try and relearn all the geometry formulas my algebra is on point. I feel like from what your posts says, that the practice tests are actually very misleading and cause us to study the wrong material. Thank you again!!
